Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Springbok → Brandkaros Camp

We meet in Springbok and begin the journey north, travelling to Brandkaros Camp for our first overnight stop. This is where the adventure begins, with wide open landscapes and the convoy settling into tour rhythm.

Day 2 — Brandkaros → Sendelingsdrif → Potjiespram

We make an early start and enter the Richtersveld. After completing permits at Sendelingsdrif, we continue deeper into the park and drive through to Potjiespram for the night.

Day 3 — Potjiespram → Halfmens → Hand of God Rock → De Hoop

Here we explore some of the Richtersveld’s most iconic scenery. We pass the famous halfmens plants and visit the striking Hand of God rock formation before continuing on to De Hoop.

Day 4 — De Hoop → Richtersberg

We continue through the dramatic Richtersveld landscape and make our way to Richtersberg, another unforgettable stop surrounded by rugged desert beauty.

Day 5 — Richtersberg → Helskloof Pass → Richtersveld Exit → Vioolsdrif

A big route day. We drive to Echo Canyon, then continue over the hills and through the pass as we exit the Richtersveld and head toward Vioolsdrif for the night.

Day 6 — Vioolsdrif → Riemvasmaak

We leave the border region behind and continue inland to Riemvasmaak, known for its dramatic rock formations, hot springs, and isolated beauty.

Day 7 — Riemvasmaak → Kgalagadi Lifestyle → Game Drive

We travel onward toward the Kgalagadi region, arriving at Kgalagadi Lifestyle. Depending on timing, the day includes a game drive and a chance to settle into true safari country.

Day 8 — Kgalagadi Lifestyle → Twee Rivieren

Today we enter deeper into the Kgalagadi area and continue through to Twee Rivieren, the well-known southern entry point to the park.

Day 9 — Kgalagadi → Afternoon Exit → Kgalagadi Lifestyle

After a morning in the park, we make our way out in the afternoon and return to Kgalagadi Lifestyle for the night.

Day 10 — Kgalagadi Lifestyle → Augrabies

We leave the Kalahari behind and head to Augrabies for the final overnight stop of the tour. A fitting close to a route filled with big skies, red sand, and rugged adventure.

Day 11 — Tour Close

After breakfast, the tour comes to an end and everyone heads home with memories of one of South Africa’s wildest and most scenic overland routes.
